Cabinet Refacing Plus - Newton, MA - Cohen

We refaced this dated kitchen in a traditional but updated door. The new island is in a contrasting gray color with an open wine rack and vertical-grain walnut countertop. The over the peninsula glassed-in cabinets were kept and refaced. Below, the peninsula was extended with an additional cabinet box and dressed up with decorative door panels.

This old kitchen was small with very ugly yellow cabinets that a previous owner had painted. The existing cabinets were also in bad shape with old, poorly functioning drawers. We added all new cabinetry, and far more cabinetry by adding cabinets along the opposite wall from the original set. This gave us the opportunity to add a dishwasher that the homeowner always wanted, along with organizers such as a corner lazy susan and roll out trays.

The client had remodeled their kitchen 30 years ago in cherry but it was time to refresh and modernize it. We removed the tall soffit to open it up at the ceiling, had the cabinet boxes painted and added new doors and drawer fronts.

We refaced this cherry stained kitchen with a beautiful white satin maple and a custom-mixed green for the island. The built in refrigerator and tall pantry were swapped, so the refrigerator could be closer to the work area.

The client wanted a rich, traditional look. We used raised panel door with bisque and gray accent glaze for most of the kitchen. The island is contrasting flint gray color. The island has a large open wine rack and a walnut, end-grain butcher block top. The rest of the countertops are quartz. The new backsplash is gray glass subway tiles.

The homeowner was getting ready to sell this high-end contemporary city condo and wanted a modern look. The original 20 year old natural maple doors were outdated. We installed high gloss doors white doors and side panels on the island and more modern aluminum doors on the wall cabinets. The refrigerator was moved to the right side to allow for a more convenient door to the adjoining room. The countertop and backsplash tile was also changed.

The original kitchen was built-in birch veneer cabinetry that had been painted over many times, it was tired, didn’t have adjustable shelves, and didn’t have full-extension drawers. In addition, the homeowner wanted to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room to allow for a more open feel in the kitchen. We replaced all the cabinetry and added a peninsula where the wall was removed.

This homeowner wanted to freshen up the kitchen and add additional storage. She chose popular shaker style doors in maple wood with a light tawney color stain. The client likes stained wood, and thought it would be more consistent with her Victorian home versus a white kitchen. To gain additional storage we replaced the upper cabinets with taller ones that extend to the ceiling, and we also added a tall, shallow pantry cabinet on a side wall. Roll-out trays and a soft-close trash unit completed this update.
