Meet Kitchen Tune-Up's Newest Designer, Karen

We're thrilled to welcome the newest member of the Kitchen Tune-Up Bloomfield NJ family, Karen! With a passion for creating beautiful, functional spaces, Karen brings a wealth of experience from her time as a kitchen and bath designer in Paris and across Europe. We sat down with her to learn a little more about her design philosophy and what she's most excited about.

Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what brought you into kitchen and bath design?

A: I've been a kitchen and bath designer for a while. My background is in interior design, and I've been in the United States for two years now. Before that, I was in France doing the same exact job. Through my interior design work, I simply fell in love with kitchens and bathrooms, and so here I am.

Q: You've designed hundreds of kitchens in Paris and Europe. What inspires your design approach, and how do you bring that creativity to your clients?

A: For me, a design needs to be rooted in the person who needs the space. When I approach a project, I think about the long term. A design needs to be timeless and functional—it needs to be something you'll love day in and day out.

Q: What excites you the most about joining the Kitchen Tune-Up family?

A: The fact that it really feels like a family.

Q: What's one design tip that instantly elevates a kitchen or bath?

A: A good accent in any project will make everything beautiful, and flowers!

Q: If you could design your own kitchen or bath, what's one feature you'd absolutely include?

A: For a bathroom, it would be heated floors, and for a kitchen, it would be anything pull-out.
